Most people walk straight past a hidden scroll. You didn't.
Well now — you found one. I hid scrolls in books and quiet corners, for the right sort of person: the sort who picks up a strange little scroll and thinks, why not.
The School of Evershade is a fantasy school, and it is entirely free. Inside the castle you will find real lessons — ancient writing and runes, calligraphy, herbs and plants, the apothecary's craft, the history of the sky — taught by my professors, who are animals, and excellent at their jobs. The castle is imaginary. The learning is not.
If your scroll carries a word, whisper it below; if it doesn't, come straight in. Take the Sorting if you like, and wander in. There is no hurry here.

Some scrolls carry a word, printed in gold. If yours does, speak it here — the door is listening. If yours has no word, that is quite all right; skip this and come straight in below.

The Sorting suggests a house; the choice is always yours. Or skip the ceremony and go straight to wandering — the castle keeps no roll of who entered which door.
Letters from the School
