About Professor Webblethorn
Professor Webblethorn is an orchard orbweaver, bright green and gold, and about as far from a frightening spider as a spider can be. Elegant, patient, and precise, she has a gift for noticing marks that everyone else has walked past: a carving worn nearly smooth, a letter half hidden by ivy, a symbol scratched beside a door centuries ago.
She keeps her web among the stones of the Runes & Ancient Writing classroom, surrounded by inscriptions, ancient alphabets, clay tablets, and carved stones whose writers have been gone for centuries. She encourages her scholars to look closely, question easy assumptions, and remember that even the smallest mark may have something to say.
Where Professor Webblethorn lived before Evershade, she has never quite said. Ask, and she will only smile, in the way of someone who knows a secret and is enjoying keeping it a little longer.
As Head of House Septentrio, she can often be found high in the Aerie with her scholars, usually with another question already in mind.
Her Insignia and Seal
Professor — identifies a member of Evershade's teaching faculty.
Head of House — identifies the professor who oversees one of Evershade's four Houses.
Her wax seal — Professor Webblethorn seals her notes with purple wax. You will find them pinned throughout her lessons, where a mark deserves a second look, and now and then elsewhere around the castle.
