THE SOAP CAULDRON
One true cold-process soap. No substitutions. — the Deep Shelf of the Potions Experiment.
An honest word from the laboratory. This is the strictest room in the laboratory. The recipe is a proved formula — olive, coconut, shea, and castor oils at a 5% superfat, its lye weighed to the gram — and the builder will not vary it, because lye does not forgive improvisation. What you may choose is the size of the batch and what stirs in at trace. Nothing else is negotiable, and that is the lesson.

Learn the Method Behind the Soap
The cauldron's locked formula comes straight from the cold-process lesson — the lye arithmetic, the safety, and the cure are all taught there first. The generator applies the lesson; these pages teach it.

Lesson 40 · The gentler road into soap
That is why the formula is locked: the oils and the lye are the lesson's, and only the batch size and the trace add-in are yours to choose.
